Promotion Objectives

Promotion is an important part of the marketing pie. There are three primary objectives to promotion:

  1. Informing – Running a promotion that makes potential customers aware of your products and/or services.
  2. Persuading – Running a promotion that makes people interested in trying the product. (They are already aware, but now it is time to buy)
  3. Reminding – Running a promotion to reinforce your brand, reminding people who already buy that you are around.

Do you have an upcoming promotion you are working on?  Are you clear on the objective?  If not, it is time to become clear.  Advertising without a strategy or objectives is just a waste of money.
