Book Review – The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber

by Jennifer Fontaine on March 11, 2011

My short and sweet review of this book: It’s awesome. If you are a small business owner, you need to buy this book.

Don’t have time to read? Get the audio book, it is like your grandpa reading you a story, a very good story. The e-myth revisited by Michael Gerber

There is no way I could possibly cover all of the greatness of this book in my review.  However, what I can tell you is that I am very fussy about business books.  I am a marketing consultant with a MBA in marketing, and I teach college marketing classes.  I find most of the business books out there are junk, maybe 1 in 10 is good.  I am constantly amazed at some of the stuff that gets published, hundreds of pages of fluff with very little substance.  This book is substance without the fluff.

Here is the link to buy the book on Amazon .  Please note that I am not affiliated with this book or the author, and this is not an affiliate link to buy the book.  This is a non-biased recommendation.

Bottom line: This book could change your business!

You’re right this is a hard book to cover in a short article. Hard to do it justice. Anyone who is serious about building a strong business should read the E-Myth. It is an eye opener as far as what traps to look out for. I like concept of working on your business vs working in your business.

I’m with you both on this book and on business books in general. As I get older and write more myself, the word “anodyne” far too often comes to mind to describe far too many business texts.

This isn’t one of them.

Phil – Thanks for the comments. Text books can be very useful, but you describe them well. I find this book to be very user friendly.
